I don’t remember when was the last time we loaded our refrigerator with lots of fruits and vegetables in it, well particularly fruits because we are lazy fruit eaters. Whenever we buy fruits before it ended up in the trash because it rots because we even realize that we have it in our fridge. It has been a week since we started our smoothie diets/nutrition and we’re doing pretty well with our fruits and salads. We ran out of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries so we went to the grocery store earlier today to buy a box of each kind. Now our fridge is full of fruits, many kinds of it and they won’t be wasted anymore because I make smoothies each morning as our breakfast alternatives. I even stopped drinking coffee because once I drink my smoothies I get stuffed in. It’s just incredible how much fruits we wasted before and look at us now; we load our fridge with healthy stuff.

I have electronics that depends on batteries such us my point and shoot camera. Well, it’s actually no longer mine because I gave it to my siblings back in the Philippines. When I gave it to them I made sure it comes with an extra rechargeable battery just in case they’ll ran-out of battery while in the middle of doing some photo-shoot or something like that. Anyway, a year later those batteries I sent them were no longer working and they asked me to send them another pair if I don’t mind. Of course I don’t mind. I want them to make good use of the camera so if they need another rechargeable batteries I will have to send it to them as soon as I can. I found a maha mh-c808m battery charger and it looks pretty cool. It’s a deluxe battery charger, batteries from AA – AAA – C – D can be placed in it for charging. All-in-one battery charger so to speak. This is really neat and I want to get it for my siblings.

Purchasing a new TV

Thinking back to the time when we purchased our Samsung 50” plasma TV, I’m now wishing we had the finances to purchase an internet ready compatible LCD TV. It would come in handy when writing articles because of it’s large big screen and it would double as an extra computer. Recently, our older computer started giving us some trouble and we ended up buying a brand new computer to replace our older one because we would end up losing our work. It was frustrating to say the least. Now I can do my work without worrying about losing it, but my husband has been having difficulty with his laptop because the mouse pad is so sensitive to his hands and sometimes he ends up losing his work. He says he misses his older desktop computer, that’s why it would be nice to have an internet ready TV so he can do his work on the TV. I think the next time we go looking for a new TV, it will be an internet ready TV. My husband was looking at some new TV’s and he likes this Samsung 46” led tv. But internet ready tv’s can be expensive. We will wait to see how long our current TV will last. I know he’s excited to buy one but for now, it will have to wait.

I’m a big fan of music. I like to listen to soft rock but my husband likes to listen to classic rock music. He said that when he was in his early 20′s him and his best friend used to go to all kinds of rock concerts. I asked him who his favorite band was back then. He told me it would have to be a band that starts with S because he likes the sound of the conga drum played his favorite music artist who is clearly one of the most outstanding conga drum musicians in this world. It’s a Latin American music that will get just about any music lover moving to their feet. They really get down on those congas. As a matter of fact, he particularly likes the album ~~Supernatural~~ that was nominated for 10 Grammy awards so you know this is not just your typical everyday band. Tool allotment bonus

Each year the Company where my husband works for offers their workers a tool allotment bonus. Fishing at the IB Pier

We love fishing and that’s one of the thing that our family loves doing whenever we get some free time. We simply go to the pier and bring our fishing rods and pretty much enjoy our day with other Filipino fishermen. We usually fish sardine and mackerel; I love the mackerel the most because it’s scale-less. Last Sunday we brought our kids to the beach and fished for a little bit. I was awestruck when I saw school of fish in the ocean and they’re just waiting for the lures. As soon as I toss the lures down they’ll undoubtedly bite it and the thrill of pulling the lines up was just amazing and addicting at the same time. It’s 5 fishes takes the lures but then because they wiggle so much they’d fell in the water again. It was fun though. We have to go back this weekend!

Busy with my house chores

I slept so late last night. I was doing my laundry at the same time sweeping the kitchen and bathroom floor with some anti-bacterial solution. I believe it was already pass midnight when I realize the time. I was also updating my blogs while waiting for my loads to get dry. My daughter was also up at the time and nagging me to sleep until she couldn’t fight with it anymore and went to our bed and sleep. While I was doing my house chores for some reason I kept on thinking about commercial janitorial supplies I don’t know why but I guess that was because I was cleaning our home and was trying to make our home look tidy before I go to bed. The thought of janitorial supplies made me think of the cleaning materials they have to offer to their clients. I want to see if they have some affordable cleaning solution though I want to purchase some but not for commercial use. Anyway, it got me thinking about the Company where my husband works for; I wonder where they buy their janitorial supplies for work. Perhaps online or they may have contracted some local janitorial supply store for the cleaning materials that their work needs.

Homemade air freshener

Since I love fish (dried and fresh) our home stinks after I cook it. Sometimes I ran out of air freshener and the odor would just linger on and husband can smell it. It bother’s him sometimes but it bothers me the most especially when I come inside, the odor welcomes us by the door and its very unpleasant. Its embarrassing if we have unexpected visitors and that’s what they’re going to smell when they first thing opens the door. As I was blog hopping I came across with this blog who was sharing some great ideas about homemade air freshener. Very simple! Peel the oranges skin and boil it then add some powder cinnamon or dried rosemary leaves boil it with cinnamon stick. The steam with lemon scents will kill the fishy odor and it worked great. I love it because it’s natural and there’s no chemicals sprayed everywhere just to get rid of the smell and I saved too.

Senior Communities

I’ve seen how Senior Communities are living. They live in a very simple yet happy life. They don’t have to worry about material things because they don’t need them anymore. They have families visited them whenever they want to. When my mother-in-law was still alive we used to visit her in her senior’s apartment. They seemed to have a better place compared to our apartment, it’s very quiet and peaceful. Their place is secured and no one can just go inside their community. If you don’t have identification card, you can’t get through unless your loved one will open the door for you. In my mother-in-law’s apartment, they have secret code to be able to open the gate. We normally give her a phone call just to let her know we’re coming to visit her. Her place is definitely safe place for seniors and I think they have their own activities, recreations and entertainments too to keep them occupied with their everyday lives. When my husband and I grows older and when our kids will have their own family we will surely live in a community like that. We all want to grow old in a comfy life and happy environment right?
