I cook fish once in awhile especially when cravings struck me. I bought these at tuna fish and these two slices (forgot the name of it) at the seafood city supermarket a few weeks ago. I fried and made soup out of it, it was filling and I’m stuffed after eating it all (not on the same day though). I cooked them on different days because it’s too much to eat for one time meal. My kids had some and they love it too. My husband he loves fish but he rarely eat it and usually he makes it with mayonnaise, which I’m not fond of. Comfort food is the best meal for me.

My banana is growing
Look at these banana fruits, they are starting to grow and I didn’t even know this until I went to our backyard the other day. I was thrilled to see the fruits and of course I had to take pictures of it. I know I could use these photos for my interims. I shared it in my facebook too for my family and friends to see that have I my very own banana at my own backyard. Well, it’s not really mine because I did not plant it. It’s been there since we moved in this apartment nearly 8 years ago and since no one claims it, I decided to harvest the fruits myself. Since then I considered this banana as my own fruits. LOL! Someone has to eat the fruits right?
Loaded with healthy stuff
I don’t remember when was the last time we loaded our refrigerator with lots of fruits and vegetables in it, well particularly fruits because we are lazy fruit eaters. Whenever we buy fruits before it ended up in the trash because it rots because we even realize that we have it in our fridge. It has been a week since we started our smoothie diets/nutrition and we’re doing pretty well with our fruits and salads. We ran out of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries so we went to the grocery store earlier today to buy a box of each kind. Now our fridge is full of fruits, many kinds of it and they won’t be wasted anymore because I make smoothies each morning as our breakfast alternatives. I even stopped drinking coffee because once I drink my smoothies I get stuffed in. It’s just incredible how much fruits we wasted before and look at us now; we load our fridge with healthy stuff.
I miss this bread
Every time I browse at my photo from our Philippine vacation, I cannot help myself but to miss these kinds of bread. Cheese bread that has cheese sticks inside and this monggo bread that were so yummy. I love the taste of it and the after taste too. There’s something in that bread that I can’t even figure out what ingredients are they. If only someone would go to the Philippines particularly in my hometown, I would ask that person to bring some bread to me…
Pork Adobo
This photo was taken a few days ago, my husband and my son requested me to make adobo for dinner. I always make chicken adobo and I guess they got tired of it so I decided to make pork adobo since it was the only meat that was thawed out at the time. First of all this recipe is borrowed from panlasang pinoy website but the measurement is different and I omitted some of the original ingredients to this cooking. My family loved it including me. My family are hard to please when it comes to food and my cooking, I’m glad they loved this pork adobo.
Mexican restaurant
When we went for snow adventure we stopped by at Julian to get something to eat. We were recommended by the locals to go to the Mexican restaurant that was next to their building because they make really good burger and they’re huge, accordingly. We were excited because my husband and I were craving for burger at the time. We got our orders and it was indeed huge. Their fries were in big slices too. The restaurant was full of people because everyone wants to keep himself/herself nice warm from the snowy weather outside. We even waited for 10 minutes just to get some seats, that’s how busy the restaurant was at the time. We also learned that there few famous people who came to this restaurant and the picture was on their wall.
Mongo soup
I’m craving for mongo soup and so I made it this afternoon. It was filling because my craving was solved and I ate a lot too. This is one of my comfort food and I rarely make this that’s why when my cravings strikes it’s like “let’s pig in”. My husband learned to love this soup too and tonight he had two bowls of it. I will try to serve this to my kids too for dinner, I think they will like it especially my daughter because I have some vegetables in there that’s her favorite. But for my son, I know he’ll complain but I have to at least let him try it. Yummy soup for a hungry stomach and it’s perfect for this cold weather.
Salted/Fermented seafood
Majority of the Filipinos especially the Bisayan loves salted seafood either shrimps or little fishes. I grew up eating homemade salted anchovies and salted sardine we use it for appetizer. Now that I’m here in America I rarely get to eat it because I don’t know how to make it. I tried it before but it was wasted. I heard from friends that Seafood city sells really good salted anchovies and I bought one, it was good but they’re out of stock now. One of my friends online makes fermented fish and I bought a small container from her and a friend of mine who lives across the street makes really good salted shrimp cooked in a coconut milk and she mixes it with some meat. I love these foods, definitely my comfort food.
Native desserts
These are some of the foods that my friends requested me to buy on their behalf. These are yummy and fresh food. Although I haven’t tried most of these desserts made by Dessert Plus yet but my friends said they’re good. I’m glad they like it. At least they didn’t waste spending their money on something that they didn’t like.
Yummy chili & cheese fries
We bought this at the Universal Studios Hollywood. It looks good and yummy and I was in appetite for this kind of food at the time so I ordered it. It was my first time to eat this too and it was yummy. You should try this and taste the goodness of it because it’s hard to explain. LOL! Nah! You just got to try it; it’s not bad to eat something like this so long as it’s not too often.
