>I’ve never seen how drug abusers go through their process of methadone withdrawal until I watched the Intervention TV series shows. It’s literally sad and upsetting to see how these victims of drug abuse inflict mental, emotional and physical strain into themselves as well as their family. Every time I watch this kind of shows, I cried. I get emotionally involved especially when I see each of the family members were doing their best to get some serious help to the victim. Most of the episode shows I’ve seen, so far, the victim of the drug abuse accepted the help and turn his/her life in a good way. Some also did not and ended up died from their habitual act.
I thought about the girl that Dr. Phil had tried to get some help for. She’s really in the denial stage and she became heartless to her family. She doesn’t want to get connected with those people who don’t support her addiction and she cut her family off her life. It’s really sad because she has 3 children from different guys and they’re all in her mom’s custody. The saddest part is that they found out that the 3rd baby is born to be addicted into methadone and he was sent to intensive care unit hours after birth. It’s pretty obvious that this girl is addicted into drugs but still denies about it. I hope that she’ll hit rock bottom soon and realize her mistakes and change for her children sake. The children needs their mom back!
