>Watching the commercials about dog supplies reminds me of the news that I’ve heard the other day. Well, it’s about more money to pet owners. I mean individuals who have pets will get an additional tax refund at the end of the year. It may sound so ridiculous but believe it or not many people love this new proposed law. Accordingly, pet owners will be taxed on their pet’s food and correct me if I’m wrong, that every owner will get $800 or more for every pet they may have. I’m sure a lot of people out there are happy about this big break and looking forward to make this law happen. What is your insight about this law?
>It is about time for pet owners to get a tax refund. It is simply because as a pet owner, I have to provide food and health care to my dogs. They are not cheap. I spent $100/month for their prescription food and when it comes to take them to a vet, it could cost me a minimum $140 for 1 dog. Plus I take them for an annual check up, fecal test, blood test and those can cost me easily $500/pet and I have 3 dogs. Aside from that, I take them to have their teeth cleaned by a professional every year and it cost me anywhere between $150 – 300/pet, so you do the math on how much I spent on my dogs every year. Oh, plus…I have to pay for their license $25/pet every year. I just don't know how the government would justify all those expenses, unless you have a record. For some people, they may think I'm stupid to spend those kind of money on my pets, but again I treat them as my babies, not a pet.
