>When i got serious about blogging I’ve learned many different words, at first i was so confuse because I’m not familiar with it. I’m not a computer savvy so don’t expect too much from me, what I’m sharing here are those thoughts, ideas that are based from my experiences. There are many different terms in blogging that i have learned and I’m sure there are a lot more that i haven’t heard yet. Anyway i just want to share with you the common terms used in blogging that i have learned about and I’m sure those newbies out there are curious about this too.
- Blogging – publishes blog entries directly to the web (like writing an online diary)
- Blogger – title called to the person writing an online diary
- Blogosphere – a community of bloggers
- URL - is the Internet address of a particular site
- Search Engine – is a computer program that searches databases and Internet sites like (Google, yahoo etc..)
- HTML - is a set of codes or markup symbols
- Blogroll – lists of friends
- links – is a pointers to another record (Internet address)
- Traffic – a measurement of the amount of user visited the website
- Page rank – is a measure of the importance of a page based upon the quality and quantity of links pointing to that page (trade mark of Google)
- Real rank – a more accurate ranking than Alexa and Google PageRank because it isn’t based on a small sample of a site’s visitors or on a censored link-weighting algorithm. It’s based on real traffic.
These are just few of the many terms that are being used in blogging or in an online marketing world.
